Add your first property

2 min read

Adding a property goes much faster when you gather the materials first. Here is what to have at hand, and the order that works best.

Prepare before you start

  • Photos. Ten or so good ones per unit beat fifty average ones. Lead with the photo you would want on a booking site.
  • A short description. Two or three honest paragraphs about the place and the area.
  • Your rates. A base nightly rate per unit, plus any seasonal prices you already use.
  • Policies. Check-in and check-out times, cancellation terms and house rules. If you have never written house rules down, our free house rules generator on this site gives you a solid starting point.

Set up the property

From your dashboard, create the property and fill in the basics: name, address and description. Then add each bookable unit, whether that is a whole house, individual rooms or apartments. Photos and amenities live on the unit, so guests see exactly what they are booking.

Set rates and availability

Give every unit a base rate and add seasonal pricing where you need it. Then open the calendar and block any dates that are already taken, including bookings you took by phone or on other platforms. An accurate calendar from day one is what prevents double bookings later.

Check it as a guest would

Preview your website and walk through a booking: pick dates, check the price, read the policies. Anything that confuses you will confuse a guest twice as much.

Once the property looks right, the go-live checklist guide covers the final steps before you accept real bookings.
